On September 14, the Tamworth based Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was tasked to a motor vehicle accident at Palmers Island near Yamba.

A 21 year old female was treated at the scene prior to being transported by road ambulance to a suitable landing area at a truck stop on the Pacific Highway.

She suffered multiple injuries was stablised for transport by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before she was airlifted to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
