More funding up for grabs to help stage new or existing festivals

Organisers of events planned to be held in the Clarence and RichmondValleys between July and December next year that are aimed at driving morevisitors to the region are invited to apply for funding from the NSWGovernment, Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis has announced.

Applications are now open for Round Two of both the 2019 Incubator Event Fund and the Flagship Event Fund, with more than $500,000 up for grabs.

“Yamba Rotary’s Eat Street Festival, Casino’s Beef Week Festival and Grafton’s Jacaranda Festival have all benefitted from these funds in the past to help make their events even bigger and better, and I encourage other event organisers to apply,” Mr Gulaptis said.

“The money can be put to a range of uses, such as temporary infrastructure, marketing and venue hire.

“The main thing is that the applicants need to show they are likely to attract visitors to our local area, because tourists deliver jobs for locals,” he said.

The Flagship Event Fund offers an annual grant of $20,000 or a triennial grant of $27,500 for existing events.  The Incubator Event Fund offers grants of up to $20,000 for new events in their first or second year.

Applications for Round Two of both funds close on Sunday January 13. For more information and to lodge an application, go to www.destinationnsw.com.au/rfep
