‘Million Metres for MND’ Charity bike ride to pass through valley

The“Million Metres for MND (Motor Neurone Disease) Ride” from Brisbane to Sydney, will be travelling through the Clarence Valley on May 23 -24. The charity bike ride between Brisbane and Sydney (One Million Metres), helps raise awareness and funds for much needed research into finding a cure for MND. The original Million Metres for MND Ride was held in May 2012 when Scott Sullivan and Ian Davis both living with MND rode a specially designed tandem bicycle from Brisbane to Sydney over 16 days. This ride celebrates the feat of two very courageous and inspirational people affected by this fatal and debilitating disease while raising awareness and funds to find a cure. While Scott lost his battle with MND in April 2014, his legacy is well and truly alive. The riders will stop off for lunch at the Maclean Services Club on Monday 23 May before an overnight stay in Grafton.
