Million dollar babes

Retired sisters in Grafton have scooped last week’s Monday Lotto draw winning $1 million in prize money.

Wanting privacy, one sister said, “I feel so happy,”

“Are you sure this isn’t a hoax?

“This is incredible! I play regularly and I always mark my entry but the numbers that won me division one weren’t particularly special numbers.

“In fact, I shared this entry with my sister!” one of the ladies replied.

The Northern Rivers residents held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw 3980, drawn Monday June 8.

Grafton Shoppingworld Newsagency sold the sisters the winning ticket.

Rose Driver, owner of Grafton Shoppingworld Newsagency also sold a second division ticket valued at $6800.

“I’m just so happy we were able to bring about this incredible amount of joy to these people,” she said.

“Congratulations to them!”

In 2019, there were 108 division one winning Monday and Wednesday Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won $106 million.

NSW Lotteries asked the sister how she planned to enjoy her half of the win.

“Well I’ll certainly be travelling around the country plenty more,” she said.

“It will be fantastic to just not have to worry about money.

“And I know my sister will enjoy it very much! I am sure she will want to do a bit of travel because she loves to travel as well.

This is fantastic!”
