Midday Rotary Carols by Candlelight at Alumy Creek cancelled for 2020

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 social distancing restrictions which will likely be in place until a vaccine is found, Grafton Midday Rotary and the Clarence Valley Orchestra & Chorus have had to cancel the Alumy Creek Carols by Candlelight which was scheduled for Saturday 5th December 2020.

Midday Rotary Club president Robert Blanchard said, “Apart from the impact of COVID-19 on the event, we also do not wish to impose on the generosity of our local businesses while they deal with the repercussions from the pandemic, as their help has been critical to the success of past Carols by Candlelight.”

Midday Rotary secretary  and Orchestra & Chorus  maestro, Dr Greg Butcher said, “Hopefully all will be well in time for Christmas 2021 and we will be able to set up once again for the Carols spectacular proposed for Saturday 4th December 2021, along with our guest artist, the Clarence Valley Orchestra & Chorus, the Clarence River Dance Academy and of course Santa Claus!”

Dr Butcher said that it was a hard decision to make this early, however it was better to call it off now rather than later, as a huge amount of organisation precedes each event.

Midday Rotary and the Clarence Valley Orchestra & Chorus hope that all of their supporters and followers understand and will keep in touch whilst looking out for news about next year’s show.
