As he sleeps contently in his proud father’s arms, Levi Lentfer is blissfully unaware of the additional excitement surrounding his arrival.
Born at 1:30pm on November 1, the beautiful little boy was the first baby born on what would have been the Jacaranda Queen crowning weekend, bestowing him the honour of being the 2020 Jacaranda Festival baby.
Although there was no festival or ceremony this year, Levi’s birth ensured another Jacaranda tradition was kept alive.
While they were unable to meet the little boy due to Covid-19 restrictions, life members of the Jacaranda Festival Cheryl Barnes and Eleanor Powell, celebrated Levi’s birth by delivering his present, an engraved photo frame in recognition of his timely arrival, to the Grafton Base Hospital’s maternity ward.
Mrs Barnes said despite the sad cancellation of the 2020 Jacaranda Festival, she was very happy Levi’s birth ensured the tradition of the Jacaranda Festival Baby could continue.
Mrs Barnes and Mrs Powell congratulated Levi’s parents Elizabeth Astorga and Wayne Lentfer on the arrival of their little boy.
