Meet artist Julie Hutchings at morning tea with Grafton Gallery Friends

Julie Hutchings lives in the Grafton area and has been a professional artist since 2000.

She is married to John, a very successful premier jockey on the northern rivers NSW.

Julie was a finalist in the Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award (JADA) 2018 and was awarded the Yulgilbar Travelling Fellowship to France and Belgium in 2017.  Julie says, “A strong drawing will form the bones of a good painting, therefore most of my time is dedicated to this discipline. My paintings develop from a deep emotional state – whether from current situations or something from the past. I have a very strong connection to the land and a love of animals; this reflects in my art”.

The Friends of Grafton Gallery support the sponsorship of the JADA and you do not need to be a member to come to our events. Annual membership is from July 1 to June 30 and is open to all persons for an annual subscription fee or a discounted three-year membership and benefits include early notification of events. See Gallery Friends website.

The Grafton racing season now is a good time to be part of the scene, so join the members of FoGG for a free morning tea on Tuesday July 13 from 10.30am – 12 noon and meet well-known local artist Julie Hutchings.  Book through Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/friends-of-grafton-gallery-morning-tea-tickets-151902890635?aff=ebdssbdestsearch
