After a few quieter weeks around Yamba Surf Club recently, the last week or so has seen a return to the diverse range of activities taking place amongst club members.
The Yamba Boaties have been out amongst the waves competing at both the NSW and Qld State Titles returning with medals from both of these events. Participating at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast in the newly christened surf boat, the Masters Ladies crew of Leah Essex, Andrea Nikas, Jo King, Tash Hancock and sweep Ray Wiblen won the silver medal in the 160 years event while the Men’s Reserve crew just missed the medals finishing in 4th place. The Under 19 girls placed 7th in their division. On the previous week, the ladies crew returned from the NSW State Masters Titles at Swansea Belmont proudly displaying their gold medal from the 160 yrs boat event.
