Man seriously injured when car hits tree

Police are investigating following a single vehicle crash in South Grafton last week, where a man was seriously injured. Emergency services were called to Ryan Street, South Grafton, just after 8.30pm Friday September 22, following reports a vehicle had hit a tree. The driver, a man believed to be in his 50s, was trapped in the vehicle before being freed by the State Emergency Services (SES). He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Coffs Harbour Hospital in a serious condition. Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation. Inquiries are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
