The Year 9 Engineering Studies students have just finished a unit on bridges. They completed a research assignment on famous bridges, Sydney Harbour, Brooklyn, Millau Viaduct and the Oresund bridge.

We completed theory work on the types of bridges, forces bridges are under and different materials that can be used in bridge construction.

The final assignment was to design and construct a bridge to withstand weight being applied to it. There many strange and innovative designs with the two winning designs being the only ones that could withstand over 100kg. Here are the two winning teams, Jackson Moss with Jarrah Edsell-Sims and Hendrix Mahoney with Ajanta Black.
