Maclean women’s bowls – Championship winners

The members of Maclean Women’s Bowling Club enjoyed Ham and Turkey Day on Tuesday December 4. Teams were selected by a blind draw and, for variety, half way through the game, the lead and second changed places and so did the third and skip. Every player received a prize which could be a ham, hamper, Christmas cake, pudding, chicken, nuts or wine. These were awarded according to a lucky draw of tickets issued at random before lunch. There will now be a break from social bowls until Tuesday January 22, 2019.

There is a sheet on the board for entries in the Major/Minor Fours Tournament on Monday March 4, closing on Thursday January 31.

The final Ray White Scroungers game for this year will be played tomorrow, Thursday December 12. Please dress with a Christmas theme. The cost is $12 and there will be a barbecue lunch after the game.

A combined Presentation Day will be held on Sunday December 16 starting at 12 noon. Lunch will consist of a spit roast with vegetables and/or salad followed by a choice of four desserts and will cost $20. The presentation of prizes will take place after lunch.

Women prize winners are: Major Singles – Monica Parker; Runner-up – Sandra Ferro; Minor Singles – Pauline Ryan; Pairs – Robin (Wendy) Haselum and Judy Parkes; Triples – Narelle Phelps, Lee McKay and Kerrie Hudson; Fours – Leone Bodycote, Sandra Keighran, Carol Power and Evelyn Triffitt.
