Last Tuesday week we played our first round of the consistency singles. While we did have quite a few ladies entering this event we could still have had a lot more entering this very interesting, but different competition. The winners of round one were: L Sheppard def E. Pearcey; W. Haselum def M. Stallard; L. McKay def B Cross; J Watkinson def D. Newton; L Rae had a forfeit; F. Butcher def N Phelps; C Shannon def M Crelley. We also had two games of social bowls with D Scott, P Appo, S Rogers def M Brisbane, F Cutting, E Triffitt; C Carter (swinger), B Owen, E O’Keefe def C Carter, M Tomek, M Denham. The voucher winners on the day were Lee McKay and Virginia Nicholas with the runner ups being Dot Newton and Leone Bodycote. Members are reminded that the entry form is up for the Club selected 4’s, which is our last club competition for this year, so put your names down now as the entries close on 9th October, and remember the two play days Tuesday 27th October and Thursday 29th October have been changed to Thursday 5th November and Thursday 12th November. Also for those ladies going away on the trip to Tewantin the final payment for this trip is due now. If you have not paid your trip in full please pay the secretary or treasurer now. L McKay
