President Ruth welcomed members and guests to the November luncheon. It was a smaller gathering with many apologies from our members.
Our Club would like to acknowledge the fire fighters on their tireless work and dreadful conditions they are faced with fighting bush firers. The people who have lost everything, our hearts go out to.
Guest speaker was John Leggo a retired journalist who travelled the world with various newspapers, including a global newspaper, Reuters. John gave a very interesting account of his experiences, he also was in charge of Uralla Disability Service in Melbourne at one time. Thank you John, great talk.
This month is our Christmas party and the last meeting for the year. Just a reminder it will be a week earlier, on Thursday December 12. The theme is “Bollywood” so ladies, dress up and get your guests to do the same; lots of colour and bling and join in the fun. If you would like to participate in “Secret Santa”, bring a gift to the value of $10.
It will be a smorgasbord luncheon, starts 10am with morning tea, cost $30. Ladies, could you please bring a plate for morning tea.
Entertainment, will be a student from Sister Anne’s Music Academy.
Birthday wishes to: Lorraine McGrath 13th and Annette Loy 15th.
Apologies for December: To Ruth Toyer by Monday 9 or sooner if possible, as we need numbers for catering. Phone: 0409 844 212 for any dietary requirements.
