At our October luncheon we welcomed guest speaker Peter Newlinds who is the author of a book entitled ‘Around the Grounds’’.  Peter gave us a real insight into broadcasting for the ABC on different sports including all codes of Rugby as well as soccer; however his first love was commentating on cricket.

To keep the fun rolling, last Thursday October 24 we had a most enjoyable day at the museum in Yamba, the volunteers put on a very delicious morning tea and our guide Keith gave an extremely interesting talk on the Yamba Lighthouse and everything else that is significant to Yamba. Many thanks to the museum for our grand tour.

We then went to the marina where we enjoyed a scrumptious lunch and a good chat was had by all.

Our Bollywood Christmas celebration will be on December 12 at Maclean Bowling Club. We commence with morning tea 10am followed by a smorgasbord lunch at a cost of $30. There will be lucky door prizes and raffles, entertainment, and a prize for the best dressed and colourful outfit, so please come along, bring a friend, and join the fun. There will be a secret Santa to the value of $10, if you wish to participate. RSVP for this Christmas fun by December 2 to Ruth on 0409 844 212. Please bring a plate for morning tea to share.

Our guest for November will be John Leggoe who is a retired policitian from Victoria and has now made Maclean his home.

Raffles and lucky door prizes for our November luncheon will be supplied by Ursula Rubli and Annette Loy, thank you ladies.
