Maclean Vets golf

Last Monday week, following our ‘week of golf’, we had a field of 44 players for the Single Stableford event. There were a number of visitors in the field from Yamba, Kiama and Mt Warren Park.

The winner was  Yamba visitor Nick Anderson, who found the course to his liking and came in with 39 points to take the money. Runner up was Ray Anderson with 38 points and winner of the free game was Ross Constable from Mt Warren Park with 37.

Club balls went to Di Moore and Graham Cox also with 37 points, Graham Eggleton-36, Col Harvey-35, Gunny Dickinson, Molly Plunkett and Wayne Rae – 34, Theo Sheppard, Greg Saul, Des Plunkett and Don Skaines all with 32 points.

Nearest the pins were won by Greg Saul and Cathy Ayres on the 2nd, Steve McKenzie and Amanda Barwick on the 7th, John Keiley on the 11th and Gunny Dickinson on the 17th.

Our next game next Monday is a Single Stableford followed the following Monday by the 2nd Round of the Vets Championships and this round is also the qualifying round for the Handicap Matchplay Championship to be played over the next couple of months.

The next 3 open days coming up are the Coraki day on Tuesday August 23, Maclean on August 29 and Lismore on September 6. Details for Coraki and Lismore are on the notice board.
