Maclean Senior Citizens future outings

Welcome to 2022, hopefully as of this date you have come through the past two years of Covid lockdowns, vaccinations and mask wearing safely.

The Committee is working towards making this year a more positive one for the members.

Our Christmas party last December was a toned-down version from previous years (due to Covid) which did not stop the members from enjoying a great day. Tse’s Restaurant provided a Chinese smorgasbord which was most enjoyable.

The raffles developed into a different version with prizes of vouchers placed in envelopes pinned on the Christmas tree, moving away from the tombolas Beverley Thompson normally lovingly prepares.

A big thank you to Tamara and Julie who assist us each year and the rest of the Maclean Bowling Club staff.

Maclean Senior Citizen’s membership numbers are below our normal amount. If you have family or friends who may enjoy a day out once a month for games and lunch, please encourage them to join and come along – all new members are welcome!

We are a fun group of over 55’s meeting on the first Wednesday of each month from 10am at Maclean Bowling Club with lunch afterwards at a reasonable price.

An annual fee of $5.50 is applicable as well as becoming a member of Maclean Bowling Club.

If you have any unwanted gifts that would be suitable for raffle prizes they would be gratefully accepted.

Maclean Senior Citizen’s are holding a Seniors Week afternoon tea at Maclean Bowling Club on Wednesday March 30 at 1pm. Cost is $5 per person to be paid at the door on the day. There will be raffles, lucky door prizes and live entertainment with ‘The Depend-ables’ offering classic easy listening music from the 60’s and 70’s. The NSW Seniors Festival theme for this year is “it’s time to reconnect” so come along and connect with us!

Future events:

  • 2022 Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea – tentative date set for Wednesday June 8 at 10am.
  • Outings – we hope to plan a few events this year although the cost of transport with buses is extreme at present. Perhaps we could create carpools for outings with a contribution from passengers for fuel costs.
    • Lawrence Tavern for lunch – TBA
    • Alumy Creek School Museum – lunch in Grafton – TBA
