Maclean Senior Citizens

As the year 2019 is drawing near we are downsizing our activities.
The final bus trip was held on Thursday September 26. Our first port of call was New Italy where we stopped for morning tea, scones jam and cream, served with coffee of your choice.

After leaving their we then travelled on to the Westpac Helicopter Base where we were given a very informative talk by Craig on how the helicopter operates; all of our Seniors enjoyed the talk and now they understand how it works when called out in emergencies and I learnt a lot that I didn’t understand before. The large Helicopter is now in use and they sold the small one.

President Carole presented a cheque for $500 to the helicopter staff as it is our yearly donation this was the highlight of our day. After leaving the base we travelled onto the House with No Steps for lunch that was pre ordered. After lunch you could have a walk around and visit the shops as many Seniors came home with purchases at the gift shop. There were 48 seniors who enjoyed the day and bus trip.

The Melbourne Cup day will be a luncheon on Tuesday November 5 from 11am at Maclean Bowling Club cost is $30 tickets can be purchased at the bar.

Our Christmas party will be held on Wednesday December 12. A list is available for your name if attending cost is $10 and the Seniors Club will subsidise $14 per person. The entertainment is Doug Charlton and the luncheon will be a baked meal and sweets. There will be nibbles when first arriving and the doors open at 10am.

Jan and Jim Luland celebrated 50 years, congratulations.

Next meeting on Wednesday November 6 at 10am at Maclean Bowling Club.
