Maclean Senior Citizens

A minute’s silence was held for those who have lost loved ones in the past year. A trip is planned to New Italy for morning tea, then on to the Westpac Helicopter base and lunch will be at the House with no Steps. The bus will leave Maclean Bowling Club at 8am; money for trip to be paid at the September 4 meeting.

Our Christmas party will be on Wednesday December 11 this year and will be a baked meal as we had Chinese smorgasbord last year. We take it in alternate years. Thanks go to Margaret Rooks who did not stand for re-election this year. Margaret has been vice president and on the committee for a number of years and has worked tirelessly for our Club when ever called upon. Thanks go to George Farlow for auditing the books.

The AGM was held on Wednesday August 7 with the following results:

President – Carole Morrison; vice president – Alan Thompson and Lorraine Connor; secretary – Beverley Thompson; treasurer – Ron Byrum; committee – Kay Patterson, Linda Miller, Peter Pritchard, Jean Meaney, Diana Starr, Colleen Westland, Carolyn Byrum.

The next meeting will be held on September 4 at Maclean Bowling Club at 10am.

Bev Thompson.
