President Ken welcomed the 22 members and guests and potential members Connie de Dassel and Bill Wright, Ken included a special welcome to Dianna Anthony.
Secretary Ian reported that a past member, Denis Seal passed away in late January 2019. A celebration service was held in the Uniting Church, Maclean on Monday February 4. Denis joined the Club on January11 in 2000 but did not renew membership in 2016.
Treasurer Bettyspoke to members on the advantages, of wearing the blue Probus shirts to Club meetings and activities. Shirts can be ordered and purchased from the Stanley Street Maclean Uniform Shop with our logo, either with pocket or without.
John Moorereported that the outing to the Brushgrove Pub for lunch was well attended and enjoyable. The next day-trip is planned for Thursday March 7, the ‘Yamba Ramble’. A self-drive car-pool commencing from Wherrett Park at 9.30am, we drive in the direction of Yamba for morning tea ($7.50), visit Michael Brook’s Yamba Oyster Shed for a talk and tasting, then to the Yamba southern breakwall for a walk, with lunch commencing around at 12.30pm at the Yamba Café Marina.
Our AGM commences at 11am on March 12, with a guest speaker and luncheon.
President Ken introduced the guest speaker Adam Hourigan. Adam’s interests include music and photography.
On behalf of those present, President Ken thanked Adam for a fascinating and informative presentation, giving us lots of hints as to how a photo could be structured differently, one which member’s might think about before they take the next photo. Members showed their fond appreciation of the visual presentation and Adam’s informative and educational talk.
