Maclean Museum reintroduce pre-Covid hours

We are pleased to announce that as of January 18 we have reopened the Museum three days a week; this was our original days prior to Covid.

As a reminder, our hours are Tuesday 9am to 12 noon, and Wednesday, and Saturday 1pm to 4pm. Admission charge is $5 for adults, $3 for aged pensioners, senior card holders, school age children, and free admission for pre-school children.

We are seeking interested members of the community to become members of the Maclean District Historical Society. Your interest could be as straightforward as helping the organisation to remain viable as the keepers of the area’s history. Membership is only $10 a year, with our quarterly publication letting you know what is going on at the Museum and some interesting historical facts from the Maclean area. This is emailed free or posted for $10 extra when you pay your membership.

As a new member you might consider volunteering to help with the running of the Museum. We require interested people to assist with door duty. This will then allow us to open more regularly. Duties include welcoming visitors to the Bicentennial Museum plus the Stone Cottage and making sure the displays are ready for showing. The more volunteers we have, then we will only be required to ask for one duty a month or so. Other forms of assistance could include, baking for our Market stall here in Maclean on the second Saturday of the month. This is another avenue of fund raising for the upkeep and day to day running of the Museum.
