Maclean men’s golf

With last Saturdays predicted rain the scheduled Monthly Medal was postponed. Fortunately, the heavy rain did not eventuate, and the course remained open for social play with little effect on playing conditions.
This coming Saturday will now be the Monthly Medal and the qualifying round for the Matchplay Championships for the men and a Stableford for the women. This day has been generously sponsored by Kim Moore Bowen Therapy. Thanks Kim.
Thursday’s Medley Stableford had a field of 62 players enjoying great conditions. Our resident Pro Paul King who played in the last group finished with the top score in A Grade of 39 points. Visitor Laurie Urquhart was close behind on 38 to take runner-up.
In B Grade Bob Harvey carded the best round of the day with an excellent score of 41 points to win followed by another visitor Matthew Mitchell on 38 in second place.
The NTP’s went to Phil McGuire on the 2nd, Matthew Mitchell the 7th, Peter Brennan the 11th and Geoff Grayson on the 17th.The very consistent Terry Adcock hit a close shot into the 9th to take the Thistle hole. The pro-ball rundown went to 34 points.
The Skins crew played Wednesday afternoons 9-hole event with Rod Smith taking the honours with six Skins from Steve Smith the runner up again on five Skins.
