Maclean men’s golf

Last Saturday’s event was a Medley Stableford with a field of 80 players and we offer a big thank you to our sponsors Pauline and Graham Howard.

Conditions were difficult with a gusty southerly blowing hard all day. Phillip Killian was in top form taking the win with a terrific score of 42 points. Josh Gorman and Joel Power both came home with 39 points with Josh taking 2nd place in a countback relegating Joel to 3rd position.
Jeff Miller took the NTP on the 2nd at 221 cms, Michael McGowan the 7th at 160cms, Phil McGuire the 11th at 164cms and John Phillips the 17th at 249cms.

The pro-ball rundown went to 33 points on a countback.
Our course is known as the “Hidden Gem” but word is obviously spreading with visitors this week from Yamba, Grafton, Iluka, Redcliffe, Magenta Shores and Mt Coolum enjoying the challenge of the course and the friendly welcome received.
Thursdays Medley Stableford was Back Marker day and attracted a field of 53 players. Philip Blackwell set the standard high with a great round of 43 points to finish a clear winner. Barry Connelly played solidly to take the runner-up spot with 40 points. The pro-ball rundown went to 34 points on a countback.
The NTPs went to Iluka visitor Deb Rapp on the 2nd at 205cms, Grafton visitor, Jeff Hackett the 7th at 150cms, Doug Hudson the 11th at 247cms and Geoff Grayson the 17th at 50cms.
In Wednesdays Skins game Graham Millard took the win with 5 Skins. Mick Rogers was close behind with 4. Graham, Mick, Don and Gary all had 4 point holes in their game.
This coming Saturday is a big day as it is the monthly medal No. 5 and is also a qualifier for the handicap Matchplay.
