Maclean Lions Return & Earn hits new record

In the first 5 days that the Return & Earn has been opened this year, they have managed to eclipse all records that they broke last year, the volunteer teams have counted over 170 thousand recyclable containers (10 x 20ft containers were filled and sent back to Sydney) – that is over $17 thousand has gone directly back into the community.

Club treasurer Tracy Smith said that she was in awe of the hard work that the team has done and expresses her gratitude to the community for their ongoing support. “I know that the queues have been long, but I think that everything went smoothly and that the public were greeted with friendly smiles as their bags and boxes of containers were counted as quickly as possible. It was also nice to see some new participants amongst our regular clients”.

Return and Earn is open Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9am – 1pm at 130 Jubilee Street, Townsend.
