Ed, In 2016, most of the people who attended Maclean High School in the Intermediate Certificate Year of 1961 and/or the Leaving Certificate Year of 1963 will reach their biblically prescribed three score years and ten. They will turn seventy. Instead of grieving, we have decided to celebrate by marking the year with a big reunion party in December, including with the teachers to whom we owe much. People who were in these years at Maclean High are invited to bring their wives, husbands, and other loved ones to the bottom pub in Maclean from 6pm for a drink or two and maybe a meal on Saturday 10 December 2016. We have been in touch with most people from the year, but there are still quite a few people we have been unable to track down. We need to estimate the numbers by the middle of October. We are hoping that this letter will prompt your readers to get in touch with old friends from these years, to tell them that there’s a reunion and celebration on 10 December in Maclean and that we want to hear from them if they haven’t already heard from us, as soon as possible!
