At the recent meeting of the Maclean Lower Clarence Hospital Auxiliary the general manager of Maclean Hospital, Dan Madden, reported that Maclean Hospital was the first to be judged according to new rules for accreditation and it passed with flying colours.
The treasurer announced the results of recent fund raising events, namely the raffle at the Swap Meet which earned $398 and the “Are You Game?” afternoon $577. The donation tin held $170. The ultrasound machine fund is now over $110,000.
The main business of the meeting consisted of voting on resolutions from a number of branches and they were presented at the State Conference.
A street stall will be held in Yamba on Thursday November 7 and in Maclean on Thursday November 14. Members are asked to provide goods, especially baking, to stock the stalls. Raffle tickets will be sold outside Coles in Yamba Fair on November 6 and 13.
The Christmes luncheon will be on Sunday December 1 at Yamba Bowling and Recreation Club.
The next meeting, the last for this year, will be held at 2pm on Monday November 18 in the conference room of Community Health at Maclean District Hospital. New members are welcome.
