At our October Meeting, 129 varied and beautiful plants were benched to admire and for assessment.

Judges choice orchid – Brian Donaghy’s Doritaenopsis Summer Land x Phalaenopsis I-Hsin Blanche; Popular vote orchid – Albert Irons’ Brassia Rex ‘Choice’; Judges choice flower – Sue King’s Hippeastrum; Popular vote flower – Sue King’s Cacti.
The Sally Irons Encouragement Award was presented to Ian Harris for his helpful volunteering.
Thanks to Ken Woods for providing advice on fertiliser dispensers.
Next meeting is on Saturday November 16 at the Presbyterian Church Hall, Church Street Maclean.
Member Peter Zylstra will be our speaker on oncidium alliance culture and will include a potting demo. Plants are benched by 1pm, for a 1.30pm start after the judging, and includes lucky door and raffle prizes, plus afternoon tea.
Our end of year party and trophy presentation is two weeks later, Saturday 30, same venue, from 12 noon.
