Maclean & District Bowls

There were three matches of Club Championships played last week, with the Super Vets Pairs are now down to the semi-finals. There are still three first round matches of the Mixed Triples to be played before the cut-off date this Friday. I am aware that one match will be played this Thursday afternoon but I am not sure of the other two games. Please expedite. There is good news on the matter of the new bowls committee formation. Secretary Manager Mark informs me that there are ten names who have shown interest. They will meet this week and hopefully by my next report we will have the new committee in place. Nominations for the Mixed Pairs close this Friday September 18 at 6pm, so you don’t have much time left if you wish to be in it. We have a mixed bowls visit from Woodburn Club here on Thursday September 24. A list is on the board for names for both gender. They look after us when we go there so we must do the same for them. The list for our travelling bowlers’ weekend trip away to Tenterfield and Glen Innes is filling fast with only three vacant seats left so get in quickly. Visitors to our great club are always welcome to come and participate in our renowned hospitality. Men’s social bowls are played on Wednesday and Friday afternoons with a 1pm start, names in by 11pm.
