Maclean CWA sews for injured wildlife

Maclean CWA sent out a call for volunteers to donate materials and sew pouches and mittens for injured wildlife and were inundated by 26 very enthusiastic women bringing their sewing machines, overlockers and cutting sheets, plus scissors and cottons to the CWA Rooms last Wednesday November 27.

The morning lasted until well after lunch but the sewing volunteers were kept hydrated and fed by the capable crew in the kitchen.

President, Lorraine Corbett, invites women to come again at 9am to the CWA Rooms at 40 River Street, Maclean on Wednesday 4 December to complete mittens, pouches and nests for injured wildlife. No further donations of materials are required, but thanks to all the community members who gave lovely pure cotton and woollen materials.
