Maclean Bowls Open Fours commence

The first round of our Club Open Fours were played last Thursday afternoon. However, the second round of the C Grade Singles which was set down for play last Saturday was rained out and will be played when a date becomes available. These matches may be played by mutual agreement if players let the bowls committee (Jim Johnson) know. The quarter-final round of the Club Open Fours is set down for play this Thursday afternoon February 11 for 5pm start. District Triples are set down for play at Brooms Head this weekend with the first round on Saturday morning for a 8.40am roll-up. Nominations for District Pairs have closed and Singles (all categories) close on February 19. Nominations for the Club Open Triples are now open. A list is on the board. This championship will be two-bowl of 28 ends this year. The closing date is Friday March 4. Our first Pennant trial for the year took place at Yamba on Sunday afternoon and was a good hit out for all four grades that took part. Further trial matches against Grafton and ourselves in-house are in the pipeline. Visitors to our Club are always welcome to come and enjoy our great hospitality and participate in a game.
