Residents of the Lower Clarence Valley are invited to a community meeting to be held at the Bowlo Sports and Leisure Yamba, on Sunday March 23, to discuss how to combat crime, and avoid becoming a victim.
Facilitated by four former police officers who have led a crime initiative and held community meetings at Goonellabah, Ballina, and Lennox Head, and Kempsey which hundreds of people attended, the meeting will include crime prevention tips and strategies that have been successfully implemented across parts of the Northern Rivers region.
Member for Clarence, Richie Williamson and Coffs Clarence Police District officers will be in attendance to provide valuable information about this serious crime issue, which residents have reported escalates during holiday periods.
“We are expecting dignitaries including the local police to speak at the meeting which will be based on, how to protect your home, how to keep yourself safe in your home and coming together as a community, to report the crime and also keep you and your family, friends and neighbours safe in their homes,” organiser Andre Els said.
The meeting will be held at the Bowlo from 10.30am sharp, in the auditorium.
