Lions ‘Youth of the Year’

On Saturday March 10, Lions Deyann McDonnell, Peter Ross and Joy Lauder attended the Regional finals of ‘Youth of the Year’ at Woolgoolga which was hosted by Woolgoolga Lions Club. The public speaking segment was won by Yamba Lions Club entrant Sarah Maloney and the overall winner Lachlan Beedie will now represent the Woolgoolga Lions Club at the District level March 24 at Gunnedah. It is wonderful to listen to these young students speaking and I feel we are all in good hands moving into the future and Yamba Lions Club wish Lachlan all the best at the next level. It is a great experience for any student to take part in the Youth of the Year contest and is highly regarded on their future resumes. Yamba Lions Club meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at Bowlo Sports & Leisure Yamba, commencing 7 for 7.30pm. Visitors are always made very welcome, so, if you would like to give something back to your community, come along and find out what the Club is all about. Joy Lauder
