Clarence Valley Libraries are taking a proactive approach in response to the unfolding situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19) and have made the decision to suspend all public events and programs as a preventative measure to support the health and wellbeing of the community, volunteers and staff.
Library Update:
– From Friday, 20 March, Clarence Valley Libraries will temporarily suspend all public events and programs until Monday 4 May, with weekly reviews after this date.
– Programs suspended include Storytime, Get Connected, Live’n’Loud, our Easter school holiday program, author talks, workshops, CV writers group, Owlbears role playing group, Knit Wits, Family History Help, and all plunge events.
– We are looking at ways to deliver some of these events online. Follow Clarence Regional Library on Facebook to stay connected with your library.
– Wi-Fi has been extended at Yamba, Maclean, Iluka and Grafton Libraries to 8am – 8pm, 7 days a week. Free Wi-Fi can be accessed inside and outside each building.
– Members can visit our eLibrary online. Clarence Regional Library Card gives members free access to over 7000 eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines. There’s also Story Box Library, Ziptails and TumbleBooks for the kids. Simply visit www.crl.nsw.gov.au or download the Clarence Regional Library app now.
– All libraries including the mobile library remain open for community access to information, public computers and resources. Libraries are practising social distancing, hand sanitiser is to be used upon entry and exit of all libraries, cleaning stations are available at all computer stations.
– Forty-four percent of Clarence Valley residents are library members – that’s 22,540 people. Clarence Valley eLibrary is a valuable community tool to keep members who are unwell, in isolation or quarantined, connected and engaged with information, resources and entertainment.
