LC Quota – Norfolk Island “Ladies in Black”

Quota International of Lower Clarence has been very busy over the last few months, very much in planning mode.

Our early Fathers Day BBQ will be held at Mitre 10 Yamba this Saturday August 31 from 8am to 11am. So bring dad down for a sausage sizzle.

We are taking numbers for our table at the Melbourne Cup celebrations at Bowlo Yamba in November.

Quota Art, Craft and Garden Fair, for next year has been booked in, and will be held on April 4-5 at the Bowlo Yamba.

We have received notification of Convention 2020 for Quota International, which will be held in Canada from July 12-18.

One of our members attended the 40th birthday celebrations for Quota Norfolk Island earlier this month. They too are a small branch of members; however great fun was had by all, exploring the island and celebrating. The theme was “Ladies in Black”, and the slogan was “Women who wear black lead colourful lives.”

Our fundraising efforts secured over $4,000 last year. Members have been liaising with community groups to determine where the funds should be distributed.

We donated $500 to the Mullumbimby Public School Deaf Camp, which will held in Bonville this year from Monday to Thursday October 21-24.

A second set of toddler scales has been donated to Maclean Community Health, the first set is used in Maclean, and the second set is stationed at the Yamba Community Centre clinic. Other projects we are currently working on are training boards for Yamba Surf Life Saving Nippers, Shine Program and other worthwhile projects.

As always, we would invite any person interested in joining Quota to contact our president Dianne Wilson on 0408 685 045, we’d love to have a coffee and a chat with you.

Don’t forget to support our Early Fathers Day BBQ this Saturday.
