Just before 10am last Thursday the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter responded to Lawrence to a single vehicle accident involving a car crashing into a power pole with a report of the driver trapped in the wreckage and seriously injured.
Due to the serious nature of the accident the incident the rescue attempt turned into a multi-agency emergency service response including Fire and Rescue NSW, RFS, Police and ASNSW Paramedics.
The 25 year old female driver who was trapped in the vehicle for a period of time was released by local rescue personal, treated and stabilised by ASNSW Paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with multiple injuries
