Lawrence Golf

All members of the Lawrence Golf Club offer their condolences to John and Fiona on the sad loss of their daughter. Congratulations to Shane Rose the inaugural winner of the Friday Par 3 competition. Shane won the Lady Carol Trophy with a fine 34 nett, the runner ups were Tony Chester and Aaron Paterson. This competition is played on Friday afternoon commencing at 1:30pm. Everyone is welcome to play this challenging course and motorised buggies are available. Vic Durie had to call the NRMA road service again on Sunday to remove his buggy from the 2nd fairway. Vic is thinking of installing some pedals to help get it moving. Wednesday chook run winner with a 26 nett was Col Want. Runner up with 33 nett was Heather Wilson (Herby). NTP on the 4th was not won due to Max’s rules, and on the 5th John McCormack. Least putts with 14 was Dick Grabham. No Saturday ladies due to the holiday weekend. Golf next Saturday as usual playing for gift vouchers, commencing at 8:30am. Sunday, March 27 – Monthly Medal Stroke event sponsored by Skizza’s Hair Design of Grafton and Making Waves of Maclean. The 18 hole winner was Tony Chester with 69 nett, runner up with a nett 73 was Anthony Nagle. Tony Chester was the medal winner. The 9 hole winner was Ray Daniels with 41 nett, runner up with 43 nett was Des Chisholm. Ray Daniels was the medal winner. Club ball winners were Max Withnell, Warren Hulme, Aaron Paterson and Pat Parks. The O’Halloran Motors, John Deere Lawn Care sponsored NPT on the 4th went to Denis Hardwick, and on the 5th Vic Durie. The Maclean Motors sponsored least putts went to Tony Chester with 11 putts. The Money Tree was won by Elaine Heynes and the club members draw by Bev Hardwick who wasn’t there to collect it.
