Last journey for ‘Trader Horn’

Lynne Mowbray |

The well known Yamba fishing trawler ‘Trader Horn’ took its final journey recently from the Yamba Marina to Harwood, where it will be demolished.

The trawler was built in Cairns in 1952 and has been operating out of Yamba for around 30 years.

Over the years the fishing trawler made the news after being involved in several rescues, before being sold in 2011.

In 2016 the trawler which was moored at the Yamba Marina sank and had to be refloated.

Since then the vessel had unfortunately deteriorated and during the last two weeks it was towed by the Port of Yamba vessel Francis Freeburn, to the Harwood slipway, where it will be demolished. Image: contributed
