Ed,
I have just read the latest Clarence Magazine produced by the Council and note they have just spent $12 million to upgrade Yamba Road. What a waste!
Had they been more prudent in the first place and NOT approved the DA’s which needed fill, the road would not have been in that condition in the first place, with the thousand upon thousands of truckloads of fill coming into Yamba (and still doing so). They could have saved all that money for the Ratepayers, instead of seeking rate hikes to cover their lack of forethought, which was a bit of a waste, because last Thursday on the eastern side of Palmer’s Island bridge there was a pothole so deep you could have launched the Queen Mary in it.
I wonder how many poor motorists did a tyre, or worse, their suspension in said pothole and cost them heaps more money because of the Council’s lack of genuine consideration, and only thinking of their profits.
