Kiara Rodriques fifth annual appearance at Yamba Country Music

It’s a case of not if, but when, will Glenn Massey, our most recent guest at Yamba country be returning to our stage. That is the question I have been asked several times? O/K it’s all in hand, Glenn will be our guest for the Christmas Muster December 8. Please keep the date free.

In talks with Kiara Rodriques leading to this Sunday’s program I asked for some bio material to let people be aware of some of the plaudits that she has received. Rather than pick out the highlights, below please find the screed that arrived.

Victorian born, and Queensland based, Kiara Rodrigues is the very essence of diversity. At just 23 years of age, her compelling tones and vibrant personality emulate a sense of maturity that is well beyond her years. In 2019, Kiara was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year in the Gold Medallion Media Awards. Her song writing prowess was further rewarded as a five-time semi-finalist in the Tamworth Songwriter’s Association awards which earnt her the accolade of Comedy/Novelty song of the year for her song ‘Mr Vanity’. With appearances on Channel Ten’s ‘Young Talent Time’ and ‘The X Factor’, Kiara is certainly no stranger to the stage. Her career in country music, spanning 14 years, has seen her achieve the title of Triple World Champion (Country, Gospel, Rock) at the ‘World Championships of Performing Arts’ in Hollywood, Junior Aristocrat Country Entertainer of the Year and the 2013 ‘Voice of Urban’. Additional career highlights include singing at the world famous ‘Tootsies’ in Nashville, singing the National Anthem at Broncos vs Cowboys NRL games, and graduating from the CMAA Senior Academy of Country Music. Her latest single ‘Pretty Baby Blues’ has been received well across the airwaves peaking at #11 on the Australian Country Airplay Chart.

Additional to the above Kiara has recently graduated from Uni with a degree in Speech Therapy, a course that was largely self-funded from her day job in jewellery retailing. Whether your choice in music be country, gospel or just a bit of nonsense, do come along and enjoy the company of this remarkable young talent.

Markets early, Music at the Bowlo noon till 4pm, it will be another great day; $5 entry gives you four hours of top entertainment.
