Four new positions have been created in Grafton to help deliver the state’s biggest ever roads infrastructure program. Welcoming the jobs boost, Clarence MP, Chris Gulaptis said the NSW Government is creating more than 200 jobs, particularly in regional NSW. “The four positions in Grafton include a project support engineer, a project manager/engineer, a contract officer and a surveillance officer. “This is a fabulous opportunity for suitably qualified people in the local community, or those wishing to relocate to the Northern Rivers, to play a role in delivering significant infrastructure projects,” he said. “In the next five years about $16 billion will be invested in road upgrades alone and going out to tender with around 85 projects,” he said. “Key projects to be delivered include highway upgrades and the Bridges for the Bush bridge improvement program. “There are more than 100 projects to be delivered across regional NSW. “In 2017, NSW will be delivering more major road infrastructure work than Victoria, South Australia, ACT and Queensland combined.
