Prospective 2025 Jacaranda candidates, Junior Jacaranda candidates, Matron of Honour nominees, and local business identities are invited to attend a Jacaranda Candidate and Sponsor’s Information Night later this month.
Hosted by the Grafton Jacaranda Festival Committee, the event will be held at the Grafton District Services Club (GDSC) on Wednesday, February 19, with formalities scheduled to commence from 6pm.
During the evening the many roles and responsibilities exemplified by Jacaranda candidates, Junior Jacaranda candidates and their sponsors, along with the importance of community engagement, fundraising, and what to expect as they embark on their own Jacaranda journey will be shared with participants by former Jacaranda and Junior Jacaranda candidates and members of the Grafton Jacaranda Festival Committee.
The event will also highlight the unique mentorship opportunities expected of Matron of Honour nominees and the close and professional working relationship they will have with the 2025 Jacaranda candidates and Junior Jacaranda candidates.
2023 Junior Jacaranda Queen Holly Cooper described her Jacaranda journey as a transformative experience that awakened her purpose, tested her resilience, and transformed her into a confident leader.
“What I enjoyed most was the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, share inspiring stories, and learn from each other’s experiences, creating a lifelong network of support and motivation,” she said.
During her time as a 2023 Junior Jacaranda candidate, and (later) as the 2023 Junior Jacaranda Princess, Millie Lloyd said the experience taught her many new skills and allowed her to meet so many new people.
“This was one of my favourite things, meeting new people and hearing about their Jacaranda experiences and memories,” she revealed.
“To those considering signing up to be a part of the Jacaranda experience, you won’t regret it.
“It will open doors and opportunities you wouldn’t have thought possible, and you will make so many fun and unforgettable memories.”
Motivated by his desire to encourage more young men to become involved within the local community, Caleb Foster was proud to be the first boy to nominate as a Junior Jacaranda candidate in the 90-year history of the Grafton Jacaranda Festival in 2024.
He ensured his name will forever hold a special place in the history of the event after he was announced as the 2024 Junior Jacaranda Prince.
“Throughout my candidacy, I developed a deeper understanding of the festival as well as growing new relationships,” he said.
“The candidate coordinators and the 2023 Jacaranda Royal Party provided valued mentorship during my candidate journey, always providing guidance and encouragement.”
