Iluka Woombah Rotary Club 100 years celebrations

The Iluka Woombah Rotary Club celebrated 100 years of Rotary in Australia on Saturday February 20 by inviting members of the community to our baton relay along the streets of Iluka.

This baton relay was a walk with a cause where Rotary says NO to domestic violence.

The rain did not deter the members walking along Charles Street with the baton which proceeded to the Iluka Community Centre where the baton was delivered by Anne Lockyer to Anne Farrel (Assistant Governor of District 9640) for the baton to continue to Ballina.

A celebratory cake was cut and shared with members of the community. Speeches about past projects by our club members was announced and what our club does for the community at present.

Our guest speakers were present Rotarians and Andrea Nikas from the Clarence Valley Domestic and Family Violence Committee.

Cutting of the cake was by Ian Russell, a founding member of our club and Andrea Nikas.
