Humorously introducing themselves to the crowd as Laurel and Hardy, two of the country’s premier singer-songwriters united on stage at the Grafton District Services Club (GDSC) on March 20 and delivered a stirring performance that took the audience on a musical journey down memory lane.

Keith Potger, one of the founding members of the beloved Australian folk quartet The Seekers, and Mike McClellan, a renowned acoustic performer, delighted the audience as they sang some of their most popular and internationally acclaimed songs including, I’ll Never Find Another You, Morningtown Ride, A World of Our Own, The One I Love, Song and Danceman and Mr Bojangles.

Describing their friendship of over 40 years as marvellous, the established performers shared entertaining tales of their experiences and careers in the music industry as the audience laughed and clapped appreciatively.

Keith spoke emphatically of The Seekers and paid tribute to fellow members Judith Durham OAM, Bruce Woodley and Athol Guy as he reflected on the phenomenal success they enjoyed together and the lifelong friendships they still enjoy today.

Reflecting on his own extraordinary career, Mike, regarded as one of the best songwriters in Australia, said he was happy to continue doing what he has always loved to do: create music.

Following the two-hour concert, which included an encore performance of John Denver’s classic hit Country Road, both performers spent time chatting with fans and signing merchandise.
