Plenty of families put their (ice) skates on and headed to the South Grafton Ex-Servicemen’s Club last month to partake in some school holiday fun.
Between January 20-27, the club’s synthetic ice-skating rink was the coolest place to be in the Clarence Valley, with children of all ages creating lasting summer memories as they twirled and glided cross the ice.
General Manager of the South Grafton Ex-Servicemen’s Club Steve Fraser told the Clarence Valley Independent the venue was proud to host a school holiday activity for the whole family, adding visitors of all ages enjoyed themselves during the six ice skating sessions which were held daily.
“This was the first time our club has hosted an event like this,” he said.
“We thought it was a good idea to put together an activity (as an alternate) for kids who don’t go to the beach during school holidays.
“We’re a very family orientated club.
“We received a lot of positive feedback (from hosting the event), and some days we had up to 55 people come and skate.
“The club is currently looking at hosting a similar event in July, and we’re looking forward to welcoming a good turn out once again.”
