Ian Parker wins Yamba Consistency Singles

In what could only be described as one of the best singles games witnessed at Yamba Bowling Club resulted in a win for Ian Parker over Graham Meany in the final of the Consistency Singles last Sunday.

The closeness of the duel between these two fine bowlers is clearly evident by the final result of 150 points to 148 points.

The substantial crowd who gathered to watch were truly treated to a game full of magnificent bowls with both Ian & Graham performing at the highest level resulting in all eight bowls often being found nestled within 18 inches of the jack throughout the match.

In fact, Ian did not hit the front until the second last end and managed to pick up the required number of points to reach 150 and take the final with a bowl that sat right next to the jack on the last end played.

Big congratulations to both Ian & Graham on producing such a fine exhibition of bowls during this marvellous final.

The men’s divisional Pennant 4th Round featured a hard fought but well-deserved win for our Div 3 team when they got the better of the strong Maclean side by a handful of shots, well done lads.

Unfortunately, both the Div 2 & 4 sides suffered defeat at the hands of Casino and Ballina respectively.

It was a pleasure to host the Past President’s Day at Yamba on Sunday with a very enjoyable day had by all who participated in this event full of fun and new friendships

Particular thank you to the Yamba men and women players who made themselves available to play against our past presidents’ guests.
