Help reduce dog attacks

During the 2023- 2024 financial year there were 112 dog attacks reported to Clarence Valley Council and investigated by Council rangers.

Dog attacks can result in a $1320 fine, with additional costs if further orders are issued, so Clarence Valley Council is working to reduce dog attacks and keep everyone safe.

To reduce the instance of dog attacks, ensure your dog can’t escape their yard, if you are out make sure your dog is on a lead and handled by someone older than 16, and all dogs including farm or working dogs must be registered and microchipped according to the Companion Animals Act.
