Have your say on 2025-26 public holidays

Clarence Valley Council is seeking feedback from the public on proposed part-day public holidays in the Clarence Valley and the community is invited to have their say.

On August 12, Council was invited by the NSW Government Executive Director of Industrial Relations to submit applications for half or part-day public holidays.

Council is expected to “undertake a public consultation process to assess community sentiment as well as the costs and benefits to regional businesses and local communities”.

For 2025 and 2026 Clarence Valley Council are proposing the following public holidays:

Ramornie Races 2025 – Wednesday July 16, 1pm to 5pm for Grafton City.

Ramornie Races 2026 – Wednesday, July 16, 1pm to 5pm for Grafton City.

Grafton Cup 2025 – Thursday, July 17, 1pm to 5pm for Grafton City.

Grafton Cup 2026 – Thursday, July 16, 1pm to 5pm for Grafton City.

Jacaranda Festival 2025 – Thursday, October 30, 1pm to 5pm for Grafton City.

Jacaranda Festival 2026 – Thursday, November 5, 1pm to 5pm for Grafton City.

Maclean Show 2025 – Wednesday, May 7, 1pm to 5pm for Maclean, Yamba, and Iluka.

Maclean Show 2026 – Wednesday, April 22, 1pm to 5pm, for Maclean, Yamba, and Iluka.

Submissions from the community about the proposed dates are invited before 4pm on Wednesday, September 25.
