The Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) is currently exhibiting changes to Councils Business and Industrial zones, to be renamed “Employment zones”. 

DPE has worked closely with Clarence Valley Council to ensure our Local Environmental Plan (LEP) is amended consistent with the intent of the state government reforms, while also ensuring the land-use planning outcomes are appropriate to the Clarence Valley. After the exhibition the department will be working with council to finalise implementation ahead of the new zones coming into force on 1 December 2022.
