Have your say about accessing mental health and wellbeing supports in the Clarence

The perspective of people who have experienced of mental health issues, suicidal thoughts, survived a suicide attempt, cared for someone with mental health issues or suicidal crisis or have been bereaved by suicide, are critical to understanding what our community needs.

Our Healthy Clarence Project Coordinator, Giane Smajstr says “we are committed to listening to the stories from the Clarence Valley community about what is working well, and where barriers exist to accessing support,” says Ms Smajstr.

Our Healthy Clarence invites people to register for individual interviews and focus groups, or to participate in online surveys.

Our Healthy Clarence will also report back to the community on the main issues it has heard in these consultations through a report released on their website by June 2021.

Following the initial stage of consultations, a small grants program was released on August 15 with opportunities for local community groups, business or services to be part of the change.

Our Healthy Clarence is a collaboration of community groups, services providers, schools, health industry professionals and our community to sustain a healthy and well Clarence Valley community.

This community research is part of The Commonwealth’s National Suicide Prevention Trial funded by the Health North Coast through the North Coast PHN program.
