Has the rain gone?

There were 37 hardy, waterproof golfers who played on Saturday at Yamba Golf & Country Club. This was the first competition since March 24.

There is still plenty of surface water on the course but David Grosser (Gunnedah) and Luke Woldseth each scored 37 points to go to countback to determine the winner. Mitch Brash took third place with 34 points.

Only a couple of NTP’s were contested with the 9th failing to receive a tee shot. The 10th saw Craig Penman nearest at 240cm. Sponsors were SeaFire Steak & Seafood and Peter Campbell Physiotherapist. The ball rundown went to 33 with 17 on the back.

Pennants

The 2022 Pennant season starts on May 15. There will be matches each Sunday for three weeks with the final to be held on June 5. Grafton Golf Club has joined the Northern Rivers District Golf Association and they will add considerable interest to the series. The NRDGA now stretches from Grafton to Tweed Heads. There is a sheet on the notice board, so if you would like to be part of one of the Yamba teams, record your name and Durro will do the rest.
