Happy Paws Haven animals in need of a home
Pete is a member of the P-team, rescued from Maclean last year (2017), there were three pale apricot boys (Pele, Penn & Pete), two blue boys (Peppin & Perry), beautiful blue girl (Peggy) and a blue and apricot torti girl (Perdy) who looks just like her mother and has been adopted. They are all very beautiful, very friendly, extremely affectionate mischievous playful young cats and they look as if they are Burmese cross or maybe British shorthair. They have really beautiful thick lovely plush fur. They are all desexed, microchipped and immunised now ready for their new homes. They are just gorgeous young cats.
Risha is a member of Rianne’s beautiful litter of five kittens. Four are torti girls and Rico who has already got a home the only boy. Their story is we were called to the aboriginal community in Maclean early last year they were having a problem with some community cats who were continually breeding and their kittens. All the queens were pregnant again and they just did not know what to do. So we caught all the kittens and the queens put them into foster care and then got them all desexed. We returned all but one of the queens after they were desexed and kept all the kittens. The queen we kept Rianne is a lovely black fluffy young lady who like her son has already been adopted. All this lovely young cats are very affectionate, love cuddles, happy to be stroked, just very beautiful loving cats. They are all desexed microchipped and immunised now ready for their new homes.
Fred is a beautiful ginger boy who is extremely friendly, quiet and affectionate. He is very loving smoochy and just loves to be with you but is not in your face. He will cuddle up beside you on the couch have a chat and watch TV or follow you around the house. He will be there for you when you get home from work or being out. He prefers not to have to share you with other cats but he has adjusted very well here but at times can be still a bit bossy. He is a wonderful beautiful purring boy and is 3 years old. He is healthy, micro-chipped, immunised and de-sexed.
Stella Bella was bought to us because the farmer was going to shoot her as she chased the Poddy calves to play with them instead of rounding them up. She is a beautiful blue cattle dog from very good working lines but like all pups she wanted to play and chase. She is becoming better socialised while being here and is very smart. She wants to please and be a part of the pack. She would be very good at any of the dog sports such as agility, fly ball, scenting etc. and she loves to play with toys and balls. She has not mastered the bringing back of a ball as yet but that will come as we have not had her very long. She needs a strong but fair owner who will not let her get away with having her own way. She has been desexed immunised micro-chipped and regularly treated for parasites as all our animals are. She needs an active family to find a home with preferably one who spends time outdoors
Max was going to come to us to be rehomed, we had organised it with the owner and the trainer but they decided to for some reason give him one last race. At that race he crashed and broke his hock, the next morning Shane rang and told us what had happened and at that initially they thought it was sprained. After we had it x-rayed we spent the films to the specialist centre and they said it was broken but not badly displaced. That being the case Dr Sam Biddle the new senior vet at Riverbank Animal Hospital suggested that we splint him and that he would need weekly bandage changes for 6-8 weeks with the result that it would mend in place. Max is a lovely greyhound, with a lovely temperament, extremely affectionate but as he is a racing greyhound should not be trusted with small fluffy creatures of any sort at this stage. He does sleep in a crate below a cat and takes no notice but if the cat was out running around it maybe a different story altogether. His leg is mending well and Dr Sam is happy with his progress. He has like all our animals been desexed, micro-chipped, immunised, heart worm tested, and regularly treated for parasites.
Felice is the only remaining member of the F-litter surrendered early 2016, two small lab/kelpie/sharpei cross pups. They arrived not long after the J-Team and we wonder if they are not a part of the same litter. Felice is a special needs young dog with hip dysplasia so needs a very special home. Felipe has already been adopted. Felice has a beautiful, playful, affectionate, normal mischievous curious nature of a normal young dog. She needs to have gentle exercise, a quiet life, a warm place to rest when she needs it ideally in the home with the family, and swimming in a warm pool. It would be wonderful if the person who adopted her would be able to afford for her to have a hip replacement so that she can lead a normal life. She has been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and regularly wormed all ready for her special new home.
